Recent updates and UX4 development

Recently there were a lot of changes to the software and User experience. Some of the enhancements might not be visible to you, however you will have noticed that the improvements to the crons, programs that run automatic tasks like updating rankings and live results, have resulted in much more stable and faster processing.

Here is a summary of the work done in recent releases:
- 3.5125 and its follow-ups: the Staff overview with counts, costs and dietician assignments; bookmark information for entitled athlete owners; changes to bookmark saving, session recovery and Live result presentation.
- 3.5126–3.5127: preservation of complete message drafts after failed sends; access to all available transfer history, including archived athletes; and changes to bookmark actions.
- 3.5128: changes to mobile bookmarks and notes; fixes to transfer amount formatting; and correction of feedback for relays already enrolled in a race; option to remove the 5th athlete in a relay team.
- 3.5129 and its follow-ups: menu and counter fixes; bookmark session recovery; result-table fixes for athletes without a specialty; a review step before coach hiring; active dietician assignment filters; and separate Sold and Fired transfer filters.

Some of the interface changes are part of UX4, the shared interface system we are developing for the site’s redesign. We selected pages such as Bookmarks, Notepad and Staff management to test its components and behaviour before extending them across the site.

The goal is a technically modern, responsive website that supports desktop, tablet and phone use. UX4 provides common layouts, navigation, forms, tables and interaction patterns, including touch controls, keyboard navigation, saving feedback and recovery after errors or expired sessions. Changes to these shared components can then be applied across the pages that use them.

The layouts remain subject to revision based on actual use. Feedback about information density, scrolling, navigation, extra clicks or actions that were easier in the previous layout helps us decide what needs to change.
